Father Brian has written a long letter for us - please check the Chaplain Writes
The Church encourages us to make frequent Holy Communion especially within our own church community, preferably at least each Sunday. When the normal opportunity to receive the Eucharistic Gift becomes difficult, we might find our strength and fellowship in making an act of Spiritual Communion. It might have greater significance for us if we do so at a time when our own church community meets to celebrate the Eucharist.
In this we express our faith in Christ and in His Presence in the Eucharist and in our whole lives, and we ask Him to unite Himself with us and all for whom we pray in love and faith.
Begin your devotion,
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Make an act of confession ending with,
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy. Amen.
Read the readings for the day, or a portion from the Holy Gospel.
Say your prayers for the needs of the Church, the community, your near and dear, the world and all that is on your heart.
Say the Lord’s Prayer.
Think of your experience of receiving the Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Jesus, and say:
Come into my heart Lord Jesus and remain with me forever. Blessed and praised are you on your heavenly throne of glory and in the Sacrament of your Body and Blood. This is the beautiful sign and symbol of your eternal love for me and for the entire world. Come into my heart and remain with me forever. Amen.
Remain in silence for a short while.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen.
