Church of England introduction to the Lessons and Carols

Today we launch our #GodWithUs Advent and Christmas campaign, aimed at encouraging millions to experience the love of God at this special moment in the Christian year.

Churches across the country will be taking part in the journey as they watch and wait and remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who is God with us.

Today the first of our Your Christmas Journey reflections will also be shared through our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts and a targeted social media advertising campaign. This resource comes from the soul[food] team (written by John Kiddle, the Archdeacon of Wandsworth) to help people take the journey through Advent, Christmas and into 2018.

Archbishop Justin Welby has written an introduction for the book: “#GodWithUs: Your Christmas Journey seeks to help you explore what the Christmas story might mean in your life. The constant refrain of Christmas, in carols and readings, is that God is with us. In whatever situations you find yourself this Christmas, God is with you – you need only turn to him and ask to know his presence.”

The first of three videos filmed at All Saints Church, High Wycombe goes live today telling the story of a Nine Lessons and Carols service:

The second and third will be shared later this month and focus on a Christingle and a Christmas service. All three videos released aim to share the joy of knowing the love of God and gathering in a local community during Advent and Christmas.
